Riley Dodge is the New QB Coach at Flower Mound Marcus

That's a nice little pickup for Coach Stanford. Dodge previously was an offensive assistant to OC Sean Watson at the University of Texas.

    working with QBs

Riley Dodge is back on the sidelines. The former Southlake Carroll quarterback starts Tuesday as the quarterback coach at Flower Marcus. Dodge has split the last four years at Texas A&M and Texas.
The Dodge legacy, of course, is as one of several highly successful Southlake Carroll quarterbacks, in the perennial power program Todd Dodge took over in 2000 and reached five consecutive state finals while winning four state championships. Riley Dodge led SLC to the 2006 title and Dodge threw for 3,445 yards and 39 touchdowns in 2007 under Southlake Carroll coach Hal Wasson and lost to Abilene in the regional semifinals as Riley Dodge went out with a shoulder injury.
From 2005 to 2007. Riley threw for 8,143 yards and a school record 101 TDs. In addition to the 2006 state he was a Parade All-American and 2-time Texas 5A Offensive Player of the Year. He’s also known for a couple of youtube hits _ one of him throwing up from shotgun formation seconds before throwing a touchdown pass against in the state final and another for making fun of the incident with teammates in throwing up before taking tests at Southlake Carroll. Dodge originally committed to Texas but switched to North Texas when Todd Dodge was named head coach. After Todd Dodge left UNT, Riley finished his playing career at McNeese.
At Marcus, head coach Gerry Stanford said offensive coordinator J.D. Martinez will have Dodge work with quarterbacks and Stanford will work with receivers Stanford had a late opening on his staff when David Weaver was named head coach at his alma mater Italy. Dodge, who recently had his first child, had moved to North Texas in the last month to take over the conditioning for Southlake Carroll as part of the Performance Course program.
Stanford said mutual relationships led to talks to Riley Dodge to return to high school coaching. After completing his final year playing at McNeese State, Dodge had accepted an assistant post at Austin Westlake before current Kansas coach David Beaty offered Dodge a staff spot at Texas A&M.
Dodge will inherit a quarterback competition with Mitch Cason and Michael Henry. Marcus does have a talented receiver with tight end Kaden Smith who committed to Stanford this week and an experienced offensive line with Troy Elliott leading a strong nucleus and standout Class of 2017 center Luke McBride also coming in with another new assistant Mike McBride coming in from Coppell. Marcus also hired defensive assistant Bryan Vardeman from L.D. Bell.

Former Southlake Carroll quarterback Riley Dodge joins the staff of Flower Mound Marcus.

QB play was a big weak spot for Marcus last year. They had the best OL in the district and some solid RBs but QB play impacted them in a negative way. Hopefully Mr Dodge can fix that
