Idk about praising Desoto coaching staff for standing up against athletic transfers. That's a bit of a pot/kettle situation ain't it?

Interesting all the way around. I'm curious now if the DeSoto coaches are going to play Anderson regardless. Would seem a bit hypocritical of them to not sign off on Nelson but then turn around and play a kid who transferred in from a school where he was dismissed from the team.

    Just my .02

Sounds like the Desoto coach wasn't having any of this transfer which is a good thing but will he be consistent in his objection across the district?

Anderson is Dee Anderson trying to transfer from West Mesquite to Desoto. Got in a fight with the coaches kid at West Mesquite. Williams is Kageun Williams transferring from Stephenville to Cedar Hill. Rambo is Charleston Rambo transferring from Woodrow Wilson to Cedar Hill. Not sure who the DEC denied from transferring to Cedar Hill on Monday.

Was this the only transfer denied in the 8-6A?

Yes, all two of CH transfers where sign-off and approved.

Key 8-6A transfers that have been approved without a meeting: Kaegun Williams, Charleston Rambo (CHill), Bailey Phillips (D'ville)

Wouldn't sign the PAPF, instead check the box for athletic reasons for the move and testify today as Nelson parents where at the meeting.

I forgot that he was just a junior. That does change my stance on this.

I'm certainly not saying that I think he should be able to play, or that transferring is the answer. Trust me, I'm no "give everyone a trophy" bleeding heart - at all - but I recognize misfortune when I see it.

It's easy to say that life ain't fair and talk about how things were in the good old days, and I get the merit of that argument 100%, but I know it would be such a titanic bummer if that were your son. Seeing it go completely unenforced elsewhere would increase the bitterness 1000 times over.

he still has the private school option. He may even be able to transfer back and not miss anytime since school hasn't started yet.

im not sure if Bishop Dunne graduated their QB or not but that may be an option

You're right. There is an obvious lack of consistency here.

Had DVille built a 60mm stadium, I wonder if the kid would have been denied.

This could have an impact on Desoto, going D1 or D2 come playoff time if DVille doesn't have a good QB.

Yes he would have been the starter at Duncanville.

For those who might not know Jaylin Nelson. Jaylin was the backup QB at Desoto and received playing time after starting QB Tristan Wallace went down with an ankle injury. He has transferred from Desoto to Duncanville.
