    AHS Boys Take Down Midland; Girls Fall

    The Abilene High Eagles started out district play with a win Friday night over Midland High, 72-64. The Lady Eagles fell in tonight's game against Midland High, 45-32. They're now 1-2 in district play.
    Starting first with the boys game, the Eagles were up in the first quarter and added to it when Austin Johnson got his shot to fall. That put the Eagles up by six.
    In the second quarter, the Eagles went back to Austin Johnson, his shot was off, but Diamond Gary was there to clean it up. That moved the lead back to six.
    Abilene High would go on to win the game, 72-64. The Eagles are 1-0 in district play.
    In the girls game, the Lady Eagles took an early lead when Dakkia Morris got her contested shot to fall. That put Abilene High up by two.
    Late in the quarter, Midland High was leading, and added to their lead when Rylee Rushton laced in a three pointer. That extended their lead to six.
    Midland High went on to win the game 45-32. The loss dropped the Eagles to 1-2.
