The McMurry War Hawks are a few days from renewing their rivalry with HSU.
The McMurry women are getting to this game at the right time this year.
Head coach Brittany Roes and her team lost eleven of their first thirteen games, however, they've won two of their last three.
There's been a learning curve, and the coach is pleased with the teams growth.
Brittany Roes said, "Our team has kind of evolved, and with only eight players our bond is really strong, and we've definitely developed that chemistry. The last three weeks have been really hard. It's been such a blessing, but then it's been really hard just because of those close losses and knowing that you had control of the game at one point. You know at the beginning of the year it was kind of that fourth quarter, you keep the score within a certain amount. You don't want to lose by a certain amount, and then here lately we've been leading in the fourth quarter, and it's been a huge adjustment on my end, going into the fourth, having the lead, and the girls have really adapted and adjusted."
The War Hawks hope to continue that growth on Saturday at home against Hardin-Simmons.
The women start at 1 p.m. The men will follow at 3 p.m.
