The McMurry War Hawks are struggling in their first year back in NCAA Division III competition.
The men are just 2-15 in the first season of the Zach Pickleman era.
It's been a long hard process of getting things set in place for Pickleman.
He says that he can see the improvement in his team, and the future is bright for his team.
Zach Pickelman said, "Anytime you come in new to a program it's exciting. It's exciting to do your own things, first time head coach, and to implement what you want to do and implement your philosophy. We knew going into it that everything was going to be brand new and that first semester was going to be rough because we had to get used to each other. You have to learn a rotation. I have to learn the guys and their strengths, but this last, I would say two weeks you could see big time improvements learning the offensive system especially, and we've been able to give ourselves a chance to win some games."
The War Hawks next game is Saturday against the HSU Cowboys.
This is the first meeting between the two crosstown rivals since 2012.
The women start at 1 p.m. The men finish the day off at 3 p.m.
