The ACU Wildcats will be playing their home games on campus when the 2017 season starts.
The school has been talking about a new stadium on campus for a year and a half, but this week, they announced that the money needed to begin the project has been raised and Wildcat Stadium is on the way.
It will be located between the baseball and softball stadiums, and athletic director Lee DeLeon can't wait.
De Leon said, "The only thing we're waiting on is to start digging in and building this football stadium, so to finally have the green light to do that is incredibly exciting for all of us and really rejuvinating. We've been talking about this for two years now and raising money for a long time, and to kind of get that approval from the board of trustees is huge, and so football coaches and staff, and even our recruits are really excited about it."
The groundbreaking for Wildcat Stadium is set for February 19th after chapel.
The first game at the stadium will be played in 2017.
