Novil Brothers' Bond Leads to Success on the Court

The Wylie Bulldogs are 3-0 in district play, and a huge contributor to their success is the Novil duo, Josh and Dion. The brothers have a combined 65 points in district play, and the Bulldog team is happy with the dynamic the brothers have created.
"They do something different on each end of the court. Dion scores a little more, Josh plays really good defense,so it helps us in every asset," teammate Chris Henderson said.
Josh and Dion are only one year apart, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of sibling fights, even when Dion came in as a freshman.
"I used to be bigger than him my freshman year, but his freshman year he's gotten so big I couldn't even make fun of him because everybody thought I was the younger brother, so it was kind of tough for me to do that," Josh said.
"He was a freshman obviously before me, so he knew that I was going to go through a tough time, but he walked me through that. He was a good brother and helped me throughout the whole entire high school," Dion said.
Josh and Dion say that on and off the court, they get along great, but growing up there was definitely some sibling rivalry.
"When we were younger we would always fight, like we used to play on the same basketball team a bunch. We would always see who would get more points in a game, who could pull more rebounds, get more assists, blocks, steals, all of that stuff," Dion said. "He would beat me, I would beat him. A lot of competition."
"We would always play one-on-one against each other, and I used to be the one that was always winning the games, but unfortunately he's gotten bigger, and now he's beating me," Josh said.
Both Novils are hopeful to play ball together in the future. Whether that's basketball or football, but if not, they just want the other to succeed.
