Lady Bulldogs Use Down Time to Prepare

The Wylie Lady Bulldogs finished off the regular season and clinched the district championship on Tuesday night when they beat Mineral Wells.

The playoffs are next, but that part of the season doesn't start for a while.

The girls bi-district game is Monday night, so they've had a little time to get healthy from injuries and illness.

    It's been a good thing.

Kurt Richardson said, "We've had some time off, as far as game wise, a little break here, so we've tried to go back to work a little bit on some fundamentals, and just kind of suring up some of our things that we've let slip as we've gone through district."

Shannon Seale said, "Since our season's so long, and our metabolism goes down, we're kind of tired, having this break time kind of gets the love back for the sport. We kind of get intense, excited, and we kind of get over all our sicknesses, get over all our injuries. We kind of get a break and rest, so it's really good."

The playoff start next Monday for the Lady Bulldogs.

They are headed to Graham to take on Iowa Park.

Wylie is ranked 7th in the state in Class 4A. The Iowa Park girls are unranked.
