Wylie Bulldogs jumped on Vernon in the first quarter and never let in up in their 86-32 victory in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs.
The Bulldogs, who enter the playoffs as the eleventh ranked team in the state, pulled out to a comfortable 23-9 lead after the first quarter. That's when they stepped on the gas.
Head coach Gregg Ruffin's team added 32 more points in the second quarter, and the Bulldogs "D" held the Lions to just six points.
Wylie led 55-15 at the halftime break, and went on to beat Vernon for it's 18th straight victory to advance in the playoffs.
Dion Novil led the Bulldogs with 20 points. Chris Henderson was next with 12 points.
Wylie is set to face Midlothian Heritage in the Area round of the playoffs later this week.
