Eula Lady Pirates Headed for Regional Tournament

The Eula Lady Pirates are back in the class A regional II tournament again this year.

This Eula team is tested by fire. They own a victory over no. 1 ranked Garden City in the second round of the playoffs, and they punched their ticket to regionals with a one-point come-from-behind overtime victory on Tuesday night.

The Lady Pirates are proving that they can perform when things get tight.

"I told them, the sky's the limit. You just have to buy in and say, we're going to do this. It's a deal where I've told them, you're not ranked," head coach Will Corley said. "No one expects you to win anything. You go in and play loose, you get after it. You play as hard as you can, and then give yourself a chance at the end."

"Well most of our games this year have been crunch time, and I think it's our defense," senior Hailey Thomas said. "We're really intense, and every time a ball's on the floor we'll go after it, everytime, or we'll get chewed out and we get benched, and we don't let that, so every time the ball's on the floor we go get it."

The Lady Pirates are the only unranked team in the regional tournament this weekend. They get it started with no. 24 Grady on Friday nigh at 6 p.m at ACU.
