Close Games Aid Lady Bulldogs in Playoffs

The Wylie Lady Bulldogs are headed north for the regional tournament this weekend after head coach Kurt Richardson and his girls dominated Burkburnett on Tuesday night.

Prior to that win, the Lady Bulldogs had to fight tooth and nail to win their first two games in the postseason, so is a blowout or a close game more helpful?

"That was nice to be able to just kind of relax and enjoy that game a little bit, but at the same time those close games we had with Iowa Park and with Kennedale, those are valuable for us because as you get to this point they're going to be close games," Richardon said. "You're not going to get the blow out games, so the fact that we've been there, we've had a little experience handling that type of adversity and that kind of intensity I think will pay off for us."

"The close games, it basically helps us become closer as a team because we have to count on each other to make those shots in close games, so with us playing against Kennedale and having that really close game, it just made us come together," senior Makaela Mosley said.

The Lady Bulldogs have the late game against Seminole at 8:30 p.m. Friday.
