The Wylie Lady Bulldogs are back in the state tournament for the third straight season after picking up a win over Midland Greenwood in the region 1-4a final.
The road to this point hasn't been an easy one for the Lady Bulldogs. Injuries to senior Brittany Brewer and close calls in the first two rounds had some people wondering if this team would fall short of their goal, returning to San Antonio, but they showed grit and fought through adversity.
"This determination, I mean we've got great senior leaders, our seven girls that are seniors do a great job of pushing us and holding us to a high standard," head coach Kurt Richardson said. "They know what the expectations are, but all of them know, they know the tradition of Wylie, and we don't want to be the ones to let that drop, so they've been determined to get themselves back to San Antonio, and they've accomplished that. I'm excited because I don't think they're satisfied. They're very excited obviously , but I don't think we're satisfied."
The Lady Bulldogs will hit the court Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Alamodome. They will be taking on Waco La Vega.
