The Wylie Lady Bulldogs' season is over. The Waco La Vega Lady Pirates beat them at the Alamodome in San Antonio, 54-36.
Turnovers were the real difference in this game. The Lady Bulldogs lost the turnover battle 24-6, and La Vega scored 31 of their 54 points off those turnovers.
The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to the lead by scoring the first eight points of the game, and they held a 13-11 lead after the first quarter.
La Vega, led by Calveion Landrum, came on strong in the 2nd quarter to take the lead. The Lady Pirates outscored Wylie in the frame, 11-4, and took a 22-17 lead into the break.
The third quarter was more of the same for La Vega. The Lady Bulldogs tied the game early in the quarter with 5 straight points, but they managed just 2 more the rest of the frame. La Vega led, 36-24 when the quarter ended.
La Vega continued to pull away in the 4th quarter by outscoring the Lady Bulldogs, 18-12.
Brittany Brewer led the Lady Bulldogs in her final game of the year with 16 points.
La Vega's Landrum led all scorers with 28 points.
Wylie's season is over with a 30-6 record.
