The Cooper Cougars defeated the Sweetwater Mustangs by run-rule 11-0 Thursday afternoon at Cougar field.
Cooper started out hot scoring one run in the first inning and quickly added to it scoring three in the third, three in the fourth and four in the fifth.
In the third, Will Murray hit one deep in the right center gap bringing home Austin Smith which put the Cougars up 2-0.
Later in that inning, Zach Goodson got a bloop through the infield scoring Murray, and Cooper led 4-0.
Moving on to the fourth inning, Terreon Paige rolled over on one, but it gets through the 5-6 hole.
The Cougars opened the tournament in a big way.
