ABILENE - Each Wildcat starter recorded at least one hit, two balls left the yard, and junior Casey-May Huff scattered five hits over 5.0 innings as Abilene Christian softball Sunday completed its three-game sweep of Arkansas-Pine Bluff behind a final score of 14-3.

The Wildcats are now 6-11 on the season, while the Lions fell to 5-13.

Today's game was decided early with the Wildcats plating 10 runs between the first two innings. ACU strung together four-straight hits - including three doubles - during a four-run first, and in the second frame, Holly Neese crushed a three-run homer over the wall in left field.

Cara Hoover hit a solo shot two batters later to make it a 10-0 game.

Demi McNuly and Brianna Barnhill ripped RBI singles in the third, pushing the ACU lead to 12-0. Taylor Brown was then hit by a pitch in the fourth inning with the bases loaded, and Peyton Hedrick drove in the Wildcats' final run with a fly ball to center field.

Hedrick, Neese, Barnhill and Hoover each had two hits and were responsible for eight RBI. Brown additionally reached base all four times and had two runs scored, two RBI and stole third base.

McNulty finished the game 1-for-4 but had two RBI and two runs, while No. 9 batter Alli Spivey scored twice as part of a 1-for-3 day at the plate.

Huff looked to be on track to give ACU its third shutout of the weekend but the Lions finally got to her during a three-run fifth to break the Wildcats' scoreless-inning streak at 15 innings.

Huff retired the first seven batters she faced until giving up two hits in the third inning. She then walked a batter with two outs in the fourth, however, none of those base runners got past second.

The Lions started their half of the fifth with a walk and two singles that loaded the bases, and with one out Alex Taylor dropped a RBI single in shallow right field. The next two runs scored on a bases-loaded error and fielder's choice to shortstop.

The Wildcats being Southland Conference play next weekend with a three-game series against the Lady Lions of Southeastern Louisiana.
