The Hardin-Simmons Cowboys picked up a 9-7 win over the University of Dallas on Saturday in their home opener.
The Cowboys trailed by one in the bottom of the first, but quickly took the lead when Jamie Ball got a 2-RBI single into right field. That put HSU up 2-1.
Later in the inning, Anthony Beasley got a base knock into center. That scored another Cowboy run, and put HSU up 3-1.
The scoring would continue in the frame. Cody Berryman went opposite field with a base hit into right field. That scored the fourth run of the inning, and put the Cowboys up 4-1.
Hardin-Simmons would go on to win the game, 9-7. They will close out the series with a doubleheader on Sunday.
