Pieces Falling in Place for Eagles

We're about half way through the high school baseball season. Tournament play is coming to an end, and district play is starting up.

The Abilene High Eagles have had some ups and downs so far this season, but that's to be expected after losing four Division I athletes from last years squad.

Coach Ryan Lewis has been using these early games to get his team ready for the games that really count.

It's a work in progress, but so far things seem to be coming together.

Hill Holloway said, "First coming out here, it was a process as anything is. We were all confident in ourselves, so it pulled together, and all the pieces have fallen in place, and we're just confident. We're just going to go out there, have fun, and play baseball."

Coach Ryan Lewis said, "Well we've seen a lot of good. Seen some bad. Seen that we need to improve consistency across the board, whether it be pitching, hitting, defense, but at times we've looked pretty good. Hopefully we'll get that stuff fixed."

The Eagles are back on the field Tuesday in San Angelo. They're taking on the Central Bobcats at 4:30.
