The Cooper Cougars fell to Lubbock Christian, 6-1, Tuesday at Cougar Field in non-district play.
The Cougars took a 1-0 lead in the first. In the third inning, the were able to protect that lead when Austin Smith got Parker Pierce to strikeout.
In the fourth inning, Pierce hit a sac-fly into center field, scoring Heath Hayes. That gave the Eagles a 2-1 lead.
In the fifth inning, Lubbock Christian added to their lead when Hayes got a base hit into left field. That scored another Eagle run to give them a 4-1 lead.
Lubbock Christian would go on to win the game 6-1. The Cougars will be back in action Thursday against Argyle.
