The Wylie Bulldogs ended the Abilene Baseball Tournament with two wins, and head coach Clay Martin and his team seem to have a lot to look forward to this season with the majority of their team returning.
Last season, the Bulldogs made it to the state semi-finals, and with experienced players returning Martin believes that to be a huge plus.
"I think early on it's got to be our experience. We have a lot of kids back, and a lot of arms back from last year, and just the experience that these guys bring and the games that they've played in the past has got to be the biggest plus right now," Martin said.
"You know, we're throwing about ten guys right now in these tournaments, and kind of narrowing it down as we get into two games a week, but the pitching staff's done a great job, and that's kind of been a strength as we've started. I think the goal is the same as it is always. Just to get better as the weeks go along."
The Bulldogs have several days of practice coming up before their next game at Graham on March 22.
