Due to rain last weekend, the Abilene High Eagles were only able to play two games during the Abilene Tournament, but Friday afternoon they begin their district games.
Head coach Ryan Lewis says that he knows the district teams and has been keeping an eye on them during the pre-district games. Lewis is confident with the district matchups coming up.
"We pretty much know a little bit of all the teams," Lewis said. "We've been keeping up with them throughout the pre-season schedule, so every team is going to be tough. There's going to be some that are tougher than others, but everybody is beatable which is the good thing, so we have to go out every game and hopefully play our best baseball."
"It's a huge game," senior Jakson Talley said. "They're the front runner in the district right now. We get them here at home, so there's no better time to start off than now."
The Eagles open up district at home tomorrow afternoon at 4:30.
