    Cowboys Finish Up At Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational

    JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. - Hardin-Simmons' men's golf team finished up the Jekyll Island College Invitational on Sunday at the par-72, 6,521-yard Oleander Blue Golf Course at the Jekyll Island Golf Club.



    Freshman Luke Smith again led the Cowboys with a 73. He finished the tournament with a 75-72-73-220 total to place 42nd overall in the 150-player field. Austin Prior shot his third straight 78 for a 234 total and Aaron Errico improved eight shots in round three and finished with a 75-86-78-239. Logan Fox had an 80 in Sunday and Clayton Bonner shot 85-79-80-244.



    LaGrange College rallied for the team title with a four-under 284 in the final round and finished with a 286-289-284-859. They beat Methodist University and Rhodes College by four shots. HSU finished 27th in the 30-team field with a 313-307-308-928 total.



    Joey Mayo of Rhodes College won the individual title with his second five-under 67 of the tournament. He shot 67-71-67-205 to beat Logan Lanier of LaGrange by one shot.



    The Cowboys will next be in action April 4-5 at the West Region Invitational in Georgetown.
