HSU Cowboys Rolling after Rough Start

The HSU Cowboys started the season in almost the worst way possible.

Head coach Steve Coleman's Cowboys lost six of their first eight games.

However, that is all in the past.

Since then, the Cowboys won ten of their last eleven with American Southwest Conference series victories over UT-Dallas and East Texas Baptist.

It was a rough start, but they've got it rolling now.

Steve Coleman said, "You know really nothing changed other than the fact that we started getting some timely hits. I think that kind of spurred us along. The pitching has always been ok. We've been playing decent defense, but we've really been swinging the bats well. We got a lot of timely hits during that stretch, and then you just add the confidence factor."

Colson Craddick said, "I think we just settled down. At first we were kind of wondering what needed to be done, and we kind of figured it out as we went."

The Cowboys at the top of the ASC with a 6-3 record.

They look to improve on that on Thursday when they start their series with McMurry at Hunter Field.
