The Cooper Cougars were home today in District 4-5A looking to get a win over San Angelo Lake View.
It was a pitcher's dual through 6.5 innings, but then the Cougs broke loose.
Early on in the game, Zach Goodson on the hill for Cooper, and he froze Billy Cortez for a strikeout that ended the inning.
Now, no runs scored by either team until the sixth inning when the Cougs scored seven runs.
Cooper, up by four when Garrett Hurst beats the shift with a fly ball, and two runs come home making the Cooper lead 6-0.
Later in that inning, Will Murray did some damage when he launched a double into center field scoring Austin Smith.
The Cougs rolled at home today, but they are off again until late next week.
