Local Athletes Try To Impress NFL Scouts

The NFL Draft is coming up at the end of April, and players across the country are using the time to impress NFL scouts.

Abilene athletes got their chance on Monday at Action Sports Zone.

Several Abilene Christian University and McMurry players ran, lifted, and jumped to earn a place in the draft or, at least, improve their chance of signing a free agent contract.

Herschel Sims said, "I think it was a pretty good performance overall. I'm satisfied with the outcome. I prepared for a very long time, and finally was able to come out and just preform. Just do what I was training. So, it was good just to get out here in front of some scouts and perform well."

Lynn Grady said, "I think I did well. We've been training for a long time. So, it was more just anticipation. Ready to get out here. We've been working drills for about 12 or 14 weeks now, so I feel like we all did well. It was a good day for all of us."

The NFL Draft starts on April 28 with the first round and ends on Saturday, April 30.
