Friday's game will be their third straight time both the Wylie boys and the girls soccer teams played on the same field on the same day, as they start the class 4-A regional tournament in Kennedale.
Most schools don't get the chance to be there to support the other during the playoffs that often, and Wylie is enjoying the chance to do it..
"Yeah we do cheer for each other, and we try to keep our schedule as much as we can, so if we can only cheer a half, we'll cheer a half. If we can cheer the entire game, we'll cheer the entire game, but it's exciting to be a part of that," Lady Bulldog head coach Manuel Cordova said.
"It's fun to be able to go on this journey with them," junior Lady Bulldog Peyton Cunningham said. "That we have them supporting us, and we support them. It's fun watching them play and then winning, and then us getting a win to kind of get to share the whole experience together."
The boys' team feels the same way as the girls. Head coach Chris Kincaid said that Wylie is a program, and all of the teams want to support each other.
"You know we want to go see and support the girls just like they support us," Kincaid said.
"We're playing the same teams," senior Drew Rozeboom said. "We get to watch them destroy, and then we destroy too."
The girls get the first chance to destroy on Friday at 11 a.m. against Melissa. The boys will take the field later against Argyle at 4.
