The Wylie boys and girls are less than two days from playing in the regional semifinals over in the Metroplex.
The Bulldogs weren't supposed to be playing this late in the playoffs this year, however, they upset the defending state champions and topped Mineral Wells to earn their place.
They are one of 16 teams remaining, but feel like they are still fighting for respect.
"No, I don't think anybody, I still don't think anybody expects us to win, and so we're still playing the same, you know, no expectations, try to out play them, nothing to lose, and see what happens," head coach Chris Kincaid said.
"We really don't have anything to lose," sophomore Cameron Dawsey said. "You just go out there and play."
"We're not going to do anything different," senior Drew Rozeboom said. "We're just going to play how we play, and just do the best we can. Got to keep fighting, and we're not going to give up, you know."
This is the round the Bulldogs were knocked out last year.
This year, Wylie takes on Argyle in the regional semifinals at 4 p.m. in Kennedale.
Argyle has knocked Wylie teams out of the playoffs in 3 sports in the last 14 months.
