Wylie Bulldogs Are Dominating Dist. 6-4A

The Wylie Bulldogs advanced to the state baseball tournament in 2015, and if they keep playing the way they are so far this season, it looks like they could be going back.

The Bulldogs are 18-2 overall with a perfect 5-0 record in District 6-4A play.

That's pretty good, but thing about this. Head coach Clay Martin's team is outscoring the rest of the district 46-5.

    In short, they are dominating.

Lane Bourland said, "Yeah we're halfway through district, and we've accomplished our goal. We're undefeated right now through district, and we've still got a few more to go. You have to be confident to play baseball, and it's Zach Smith starting us off getting a hit, and it just rolls from there."

Coach Clay Martin said, "Well we've got off to a good start in district. We're here in the second half, and just trying to keep things going from where we began. I think that's what has got us to playing a little better, is being able to string more than just one run at a time, and having those big innings is always a plus in a big game."

The Bulldogs continue district play on Tuesday night down in Brownwood at 7:30 p.m.

Wylie won the first meeting of the season by the run-rule.
