Cooper Is Ready For Final Push

The Cooper Cougars closed the second third of the district season strong with victories over San Angelo Lake View and Lubbock High.

They enter the final four games of play with a 5-3 record, and the magic number to advance to the playoffs is one.

That's good, but head coach Cody Salyers and his club are still in good position to claim at least the second seed from District 4-5A.

Coach Cody Salyers said, "In this final stretch we just need to make sure that we come to the ballpark every day with the same approach, and our mind in the right place. We have the physical skills it just sometimes our mind's not there."

Caleb Freeman said, "Just stay with our approach at the plate, and pitchers, just keep doing what we're doing, and score runs."

The Cougars start the final third of the season on Tuesday against fifth-ranked Lubbock Cooper.

That game is at Cougar Field at 5 p.m.
