Bulldogs Need to Stay Sharp Before Playoffs

The Wylie Bulldogs put the finishing touches on their perfect run through district 6-4A on Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs are the no.1 ranked team in class 4A and the undefeated district champions.

Here's the possible problem: the playoffs are still two weeks away, so how will the Bulldogs manage to stay sharp between now and then?

"It'll be a little different obviously with it not being a district game, but as far as our mentality it's going to be the same thing," head coach Clay Martin said. "To every Tuesday, and you know twice a week to go out and play a good baseball game."

"We've scheduled three non-district games here to stay loose, so we're not going two weeks without playing, and they're on Tuesdays and Fridays with the schedule we've been on, so it's pretty much like nothing has changed," Jared Asbill said. "This time of the year every game is a big game to us. We just take every game one game at a time."

The Bulldogs play a non-district game at Lubbock Christian on Friday, and they host Decatur next Tuesday.
