Cougars Fall 9-2 to Lubbock Cooper

The rain was playing with the Cooper Cougars baseball schedule again this week.

Thanks to a rain out on Tuesday, tonight the Cougars moved their game with Lubbock Cooper to ACU's Scott Field.

The Pirates did damage in the first inning scoring four runs to start the game.

Jordan Salas ripped a grounder through the infield, and that RBI brought home Justin Johnson for the first run of the game.

Later in the first, Johnson launched one that looked like it was going over the wall but instead bounces off the wall bringing home two more runs. Pirates led 3 to 0 at that point.

In the fourth inning, after the Pirates added one more run in the top of the inning, the Cougars tried to stage a comeback.

Zach Goodson knocked a ground ball to short, and an error on that ball scores Caleb Freeman. The Cougars trailed 5-1.

The Pirates took control of the game in the top of the 7th with four more runs.

They took it 9-2. The Cougars visit Plainview on Friday.
