Weather Not an Issue for Wylie Baseball

Over the past couple of weeks rain has been a pressing issue for high school baseball teams, but the Wylie Bulldogs have a new toy that helps with that.

They get to take advantage of a brand new indoor facility with a fully turfed batting cage and fielding area that has allowed the Bulldogs to continue their work regardless of the weather.

It's nearly playoff time and Wylie is thankful that they don't have to miss any practices.

"It's huge to have the new indoor because now we're able, we don't have to go down to the Doghouse. We have our indoor right here, and we're able to still get cuts in and field ground balls and stuff and throw pitchers off the mound, and not having to waste practices," Bulldog Jared Asbill said.

"Oh we're really blessed to be able to have the facility," head coach Clay Martin said. "You know even though it's rained so much and have the indoor where we can get a lot of quality work done, and even though we've had to deal with some inclement weather, it's really not been a big deal as far as practice is concerned, and the guys have done a great job of keeping it in perspective."

The Bulldogs will play Lubbock Christian in a non-district matchup tomorrow night at 7.
