In class 4A the Wylie Bulldogs have already wrapped up district play, and they did so in spectacular fashion.
The Bulldogs went a perfect 8-0 outscoring opponents 80-11 and grabbing the district 6-4A title.
This was a goal at the beginning of the season for a team with ambitions of making a return trip to the state tournament, and they're excited to be able to achieve the success.
"Oh you know obviously it's a good thing to finish the year that way," head coach Clay Martin said. "We just felt like each game we were trying to separate ourselves from the other teams in the district. You know I thought they did a great job of being focused and coming out each game ready to play."
"A lot of stress was off our shoulders for sure," John Tople said.
"It feels good to be able to accomplish a team goal of ours to win district and be able to go undefeated in district like we did," Jared Asbill said.
They may be done with district but there are still a few tune-up games before the playoffs.
One of those took place Friday afternoon against Lubbock Christian, and the Bulldogs came out on top with a 4-2 victory.
