The Stamford Lady Bulldogs locked up the 3 seed from District 7-2A after beating the Albany Lady Lions, 8-7, in a seeding game Monday night.
Stamford took a lead in the bottom of the first inning when Raquel Pachicano hit a 2-RBI double. That gave the Lady Bulldogs a 2-1 lead. Stamford scored four runs in the first inning.
In the bottom of the second, Pachicano got another big hit. That scored another Lady Bulldog run, and Stamford led 5-1.
Stamford led 8-4 going into the seventh inning, but Albany rallied scoring three runs. Stamford though was able to hang on, and get the win.
The Lady Bulldogs took the game, 8-7. They will be the 3 seed in the playoffs from District 7-2A.
