The Cooper Lady Cougars are back in the playoffs this year.
It's hasn't been quite as long as the school on the north side of town, but Cooper is in the first time since 2010.
It's been a good year for the Lady Cougars.
They are 14-8 overall, and they locked up their spot in the playoffs with two games to play.
Coach Stacey Herring said, "That was big for us. That was one of our team goals that we were going to try to clinch a spot early so that wqe can focus on the end games to make sure that we start coming together, gel together, as a team."
Logan Usery said, "Well there was a safety net behind us, but we still want to win every game that we play. We just got excited for the last game that we had, and we gave it all we had. We haven't been on the field for a week before that, so to go out like we did was a big accomplishment."
The Lady Cougars face Canyon Randall in the first round of the playoffs at Lubbock Christian High School.
Game 1 on the series is on Friday at 6 p.m.
Game 2 is on Saturday at 2 p.m.
