The Abilene High Lady Eagles are playoff bound.
That's big news because they are headed to the postseason for the first time since 2008.
That means the seniors on this team were in the 4th grade the last time the Lady Eagles advanced to the third season.
Megan McGuiness said, "We're just so excited because we haven't done this in eight years. So, it's pretty crazy, but we're ready."
Gabby Ortega said, "It means a lot. We've broken a couple of records. It just feels great to be a part of this experience with my team."
Kayla Otis said, "I think it's a really amazing thing. It's something that hasn't happened it eight years, and for this group right here, a group that I've been close with since I was little, just to break it and break all the barriers, it's kind of like there's no going back from here."
The Lady Eagles take on Fort Worth Paschal for the bi-district title.
Game 1 is Friday at noon in Graham.
The series finishes up on Saturday in Graham at noon.
