Lady Eagles Take Game 1 Over Fort Worth Paschal

In the softball playoffs, the Abilene High Lady Eagles defeated the Fort Worth Paschal Lady Panthers in the first game of their series out in Graham.

The game was scoreless until the third inning when Tori Bryant ripped a shot into left field that slammed off the scoreboard for a two run bomb.

    The Lady Eagles led 2-0

Then in the fifth, the Lady Panthers seemed like they had something going with bases loaded, and they did have an answer.

Bridgette Krippel knocks an RBI into the right center gap and it dropped in.

A run came home, and Abilene made a pitching change and held the lead the rest of the game.

With the win, the Lady Eagles take the lead in the series.

Head coach David McNally was all smiles after the game and very proud of his team.

"These kids are excited. They're young, there's a couple kids that have been here for a long time that haven't seen this before, so it's just exciting to do it," McNally said. "It's been a long time, so it's one of those things like we said at the very beginning, it all comes down to our seniors, and you're only as good as your seniors are, and they stepped up and did some good things today pitching and hitting. It just shows that we have a lot of fight left."

The series continues Saturday in Graham starting at noon.
