Clyde and Ballinger met for the Area Championship at Scott Field Friday afternoon.
In the second inning Jake Morgan was dealing for the Bearcats getting Brandon Berry to go down swinging.
Tanner Riley brought some heat of his own for Clyde. He got Morgan to stare at the called third strike.
Later in the second, Damian Michalewicz sent one into center. It looked like it would get down, but John Park made a great sliding grab to end the inning.
Clyde took command of this game later on, and they win game one of the series by the final of 8-0.
Game two is Saturday at 2 p.m.
