    UT Tyler Clinches ASC Championship

    Hardin Simmons had to win two games on Saturday to clinch the American Southwest Conference Championship.
    After a big loss Friday night, the Cowboys had a promising start in game two scoring first in the third inning.
    HSU led 2-0 until the fifth inning when UT Tyler answered back with a run of their own, but the Cowboys took off from there.
    They scored two runs in the sixth, seventh and ninth innings, and they made a statement taking game two 8-2.
    Game three at Hunter Field started at 8:30 Saturday night, and this one was a fight.
    We were scoreless going into the fifth inning, and it was the Patriots who struck first scoring two runs in the fifth.
    They added another run in the sixth, but the Cowboys finally got on the board in the seventh.
    After the eighth, UT Tyler led 5-1, but the Cowboys were resilient and made the top of the ninth interesting.
    Colton Spears led off the inning with a walk, and Colton Pea**** followed suit.
    The Patriots logged two outs in a row after the walks, but Taylor Cooling walked to load the bases.
    Zach de Luna ripped an RBI to the outfield making the score 5-2 bases loaded with two outs, and Jamie Ball was up to bat.
    Ball fought the count to 3-2 before striking out swinging to end the game.
    The Patriots claim the ASC Championship, and the Cowboys finish the season with a 29-18 record.
