Bulldogs Prefer Playing Three Game Series'

When it comes to the high school baseball playoffs there are two ways a match-up can be settled, either through a three game series or a winner takes all game.

So far this post-season the Wylie Bulldogs, who are once again in the regional quarterfinals, have experienced both forms.

Each has it's advantages. If a team has a really solid pitcher, maybe one game is all they need to move on, or if depth is the advantage, the three game set is probably the way to go.

The Bulldogs say they prefer the latter of the two options.

"Oh I mean we would always like to play a series, and it's a little different," head coach Clay Martin said. "We'll have to be prepared with more arms. You know our pitching staff's been deep all year, so we'll be prepared for that this weekend."

"I prefer the series games," Riley Hedge said. "Just because over time we're very strong."

The Bulldogs will continue in the playoffs this week as they take on Midlothian Heritage.
