GREENVILLE, S.C. - McMurry University senior men's tennis player Carlos Perez has been named as a second team National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) All-American, it was announced by the national office.
Perez recently capped his four-year career as a War Hawk, earning the team's "War Hawk of the Year" award. In his career, Perez finished his time in the Maroon-and-White with a 29-14 record in singles and a 30-16 doubles mark. In 2016, he was 10-11 in singles and 12-9 in pairs play.
Perez also earned McM's Senior Scholar-Athlete Award. That award is presented to the highest grade point average from among the school's four-year letterwinners.
Perez was used sparingly his first two campaigns, with McM sporting an experienced roster. However, as a junior and senior, Perez moved into a starting role and played both No. 1 singles and doubles in 2016.
