Three games into the district season, the Brownwood Lady Lions didn't look like a team that would still be alive in the fourth round after they started 0-3, but they have been rolling ever since.
So, how did the Lady Lions get things turned around? It's really very simple, teams win, and individuals start district 0-3.
"They started playing, really as a team and having confidence in each other and in themselves, is when we took off at the end of the season, and they really haven't looked back since then," head coach Jessica Lynn said.
"An example, at the beginning of the year we weren't playing as a team," Ashley Gomez said. "We were playing as individuals, and after seeing the start and how that resulted in failure, we knew that we needed to fix it, and we fixed that by working as a team and playing for each other, and that resulted in winning."
The Lady Lions start their series with Big Spring on Friday in San Angelo.
The winner meets the winner of the Snyder/Kennedale series next week.
