Stamford and Hawley played game two of their Class 2A series at Scott Field Friday afternoon.
In the top of the second Wesley Gonzales sent a fly ball to right. It looked like it would get down, but Shane Guerra came out of nowhere to make a shoe string catch.
Bulldogs led 2-0 in the third inning when Cormac Cook ripped a single into right.
That hit scored Ligon West, and Stamford extended their lead to three.
Stamford is moving on to the next round.
They took game two, 6-1 to sweep the series and advance.
