Bulldogs Advance to Fourth Round for First Time

In the class 3A playoffs, Clyde was looking to take their series over Wall at ACU.

Clyde jumped on the board in the first when Tanner Broadfoot knocked a grounder to short.

Wall made the 6-4-3 double play for two outs, but Austyn Deal came home. Bulldogs led 1-0.

The Hawks answered in the third when Bryce Dierschke ripped one down the left field line that just stayed fair scoring not one, but two Wall runs.

The Hawks took a 2-1 lead.

On the defensive side, Payton Lopez hit the ball through the infield, but Dryden Virden made a Yasiel Puig-type throw to third. The Hawks stuck the tag and that ended the fourth.

Payton Laughlin worked hard on the mound for the Bulldogs. He got Matthew Garcia to go down looking to end the fifth.

The Bulldogs tried to make a comeback, but ultimately fell 4-2, and Wall forced game three.

That one was back and fourth, but the Bulldogs scored three runs in the seventh to get the 6-4 win.

Clyde is moving on to the fourth round for the first time in history.
