In the softball playoffs four big country schools are left to fight including the Brownwood Lady Lions who were in San Angelo taking on Big Spring Saturday.
In the top of second the gaMe was scoreless with two outs for Brownwood, but Tory Burkett knocked one to left field.
The ball dropped in which brought home Alexis Larrea for the RBI single. The Lady Lions led 1-0.
The score was the same in the top of the third when Danyelle Gongora dribbled one up the middle to bring in Victoria Sanchez from second, and Brownwood made it a 2-0 lead.
Later in the inning, Big Spring went for the double play attempt, but the throw to first snuck by the base allowing yet another Brownwood run to cross home.
The Lady Lions finished off their sweep of Big Spring winning 6-2. They will face Snyder in the regional finals next week.
