The Sweetwater Mustangs are in the regional semifinals, but it hasn't been easy.
They've played three series, and every series has gone to a third game.
The reward for winning those contests is the Mustangs first trip to the fourth round.
The 2016 team is making history, and they are looking forward to continuing the season for a few more weeks.
Head coach Roland Herrera said, "This is a special group of kids. They have a lot of belief. They have a lot of confidence in them. They believe they can't be stopped."
Michael Lawrence said, "It's been a big accomplishment for our baseball team. That year, we made it to the second round. We're expecting to go farther, but we didn't, but this year, we really pulled together. We really practiced hard, and we made it here, but we're not going to stop here. We're going to practice hard and keep working on things that we need to work on."
The Mustangs face their toughest test of the playoffs this week with eighth-ranked Godley.
Game one is Thursday at ACU at 4 p.m.
The series moves to Brock on Saturday at 2 p.m.
