Lady Lions Living in Rare Air

The Brownwood Lady Lions are headed back to the state championship.

This is some rare air for the Lady Lions.

It's just the 2nd time in the history of the program for them to go to Austin.

The last time was 20 years ago.

Coach Jessica Lynn said, "You know we hadn't really thought about until I guess two rounds ago people were just like 'Do you realize you've got two more weeks and then you're going somewhere this program hasn't gone in 20 years?' So, we just try to keep it in perspective how this is a history making season, and the girls have just fought their way and just have believed that they could do this."

Chyanne Ellett said, "We have so much heart and passion. It's almost impossible to explain. Everyone here wants to make this year the year that we do great. Obviously we are doing great, but there's just so much passion and heart on the team."

Brownwood takes on La Grange on Thursday down in Austin.

The Leopards are the fourth ranked team in the nation, and this is their 3rd trip to state in the last 4 years.

The first pitch is scheduled for 9 in the morning.
