Stamford Battling District Foe in Regional Finals

The Stamford Bulldogs are back in the regional final after a one year absence.

It's been 3 years since the 'Dogs went to the state baseball tournament, and they have to get past district rival Albany.

The two teams split their two meetings in the regular season, and Stamford is looking forward to facing the Lions again this week.

Devin Moncada said, "We've seen them in district, we've played them twice. They won one and we won. It's really going to be a good series."

Coach Jeremy West said, "It's tough when there's so much familiarity between both teams. They're know what we're going to do, and we know what they're going to do, and our kids of course know each other. We battle all year in every sport ever since they've been in junior high. It adds another level of excitement to it, but it's going to be a dogfight."

Stamford and Albany start their series in Class 2A tomorrow at ACU at 7:30.

Game 2 is Thursday afternoon. The first pitch is set for 1.
