There is quite a bit of debate about the usefulness of 7-on-7 football, and some schools swear that playing the all passing style of game in the summer is a big help, but others just think it's something to do in the summer.
The Clyde Bulldogs are one of the teams heading into 2016 season as a favorite to go the playoffs.
With that being the case, winning 7-on-7 games isn't as important as simply getting better each time they're on the field.
"You know, 7-on-7, we use it just to help us with our throwing and catching and defending," head coach Rocky Smart said. "There's some things that really help us in real football, and we're basically executing our coverage and our offense. We don't do anything special for 7-on-7 so everything we do out here, we're working on getting better for real football in the fall."
"Well 7-on-7, we're just working to get faster and to get in rhythm with everybody and we're looking to go 10-and-0 and then go as far as we can in the playoffs," quarterback Tanner Riley said.
Focusing on getting ready for regular season really is the goal in the long run.
The Bulldogs, and most of the state, officially start practice on the first Monday of August.
