7-on-7 football is important to build team unity but high school football teams build unity all summer long thanks to early morning strength workout programs as well as 7-on-7.
Sweetwater head coach Shane Mobley says that they're also building up leaders during the summer.
"You know as long as we're doing something throughout the summer with our group of kids," Mobley said. "They're together, they show up we got high participation rates in the morning for our strength and conditioning program, and then they load up. It takes seniors, our seniors, to organize and get the cars ready. You know, who's going to travel with who. They always want to go eat together afterwards, and so there's a lot of leaderships that can be built, a lot of skills out of 7 on 7 that will help overall when it's said and done."
Regular season football practice will start up in August.
