Abilene Christian University athletics is officially another step closer to becoming a member of Div. I in the NCAA.
The NCAA officially approved the advancement of the ACU athletic program into it's fourth and final year of the reclassification progress.
The transition has been a long drawn out ordeal for the school, but the Wildcats' wait for higher competition is slowly coming to an end.
ACU will be able to compete for the Southland Conference and NCAA National Championships in post season play during the 2017-2018 school year.
